Cardiospermum, short for cardiospermum halicacabum, is an active ingredient in many natural lotions and creams. These lotions or creams are used for treating diseases like, psoriasis, eczema and dermatitis. This plant is also called the Heart Vine or Balloon Vine. Cardiospermum is not a steroid, and is completely safe for any human being.
Cariospermum grows wild in most parts of the eastern and southern United States. It is a perennial vine which can reach up to ten feet in height. The plant is distinguished by its “fruits”, which are puffy looking bulbs between one and 1 1/8 inches in diameter. The plant has been examined many times for the antidiarrhoeal and homoeopathic medicinal properties, and the result was positive.
Cardiospermum has been clinically proven to be as effective as some steroid treatments. Keep in mind, the above mentioned product is not just for the treatment of eczema. It may work on all dry skin. As the product is in a gel form it is not messy or irritating or greasy and cardiospermum should be applied to the affected area a minimum of 4 to 5 times daily.
